Our Introduction:

Dan and Jeannette (a.k.a. Jet) met through an on-line matchmaking service - Match.com in January 2005…yes it does work. As the story goes, Jet was disenchanted with the service and in the process of terminating her membership (wink, wink) and Dan was just getting started after moving to the area from Brookline (MA) six months prior. After exchanging emails for a week, they finally spoke on the phone…for what seemed like ….hours. After a couple more phone conversations, they made plans to meet and have drinks at a quaint, romantic wine bar in downtown Hartford. Several months later, they were on their way to becoming a “we”. We were off on our first vacation together. We booked a trip to Thailand (Jet’s dad’s homeland), for much desired rest and relaxation and meet some of Jet’s extended family. After our 27 hour odyssey we made some time to tour the capital of Bangkok and it’s crown jewels – i.e. Royal Grand Palace, Wat Benchamabopit (marble temple), and other ancient temples. Weathering the intense heat and mosquitoes, we also shopped the Chatuchak Market - the World’s Biggest Weekend Market, where Jet employed Dan as her personal sherpa, hauling her purchases all around town. Shopping together, carrying bags, visiting family, exotic travel, laughing, long plane trips, walking, shopping, romantic beaches… we realized that we could make a life together. This was the beginning of our journey.

Our Engagement:

Back in the USA, fast forward a few months, Dan and Jet were taking a drive, and Dan looked over at Jet and casually said “let’s go look at rings.” And with that, we were on a mission to find the perfect band to symbolize our life long commitment to each other. During Jet’s family’s Chanukah celebration, Dan spoke to Jet’s parents about his intentions. They were overjoyed. Then, surrounded by Dan’s family Christmas morning 2006, at his parent’s home in St. Augustine, Dan dropped to one knee and proposed to Jet. After a brief examination of the ring, and shared tears of joy, Jet gleefully accepted. …..

Our Wedding Plans:

Dan and Jeannette decided to find a special place to be married. It was important for Dan and Jet to find a venue that had an enchanting, idyllic setting to celebrate their love and exchange wedding vows. We wanted it to be unique and picturesque, but not too ostentatious or extravagant. Just a place where, along with our family and friends, we could be relaxed and comfortable and enjoy the party. After extensive research, we chose Saint Clements Castle, with its French Tudor and Bavarian architecture complete with spectacular water views of the Connecticut River. For the season of our wedding we chose autumn with its beautifully painted foliage as our back drop. We cannot wait to stand in the gracious courtyard, in front of everyone and exchange our vows and devotion to each other.

We are so excited for our wedding!! Thank you for being a part of our lives!!
