Destination Love Shoot : Melissa + Robbie : Coney Island, New York

This past weekend we fotographed the awesome wedding of Melissa + Robbie at the beautiful Wave Hill in New York. Stay tuned for a future post about that.....but first let me rewind to few weeks back, when we spent the day with this lovely couple on the one and only Coney Island!!! We've always wanted to go to Coney Island because of it's history, and so we were super psyched when Melissa + Robbie told us that they'd like to do something fun together for their Love Shoot....maybe an amusement park....how about Coney Island? There were so many fun places to fotograph them......from the carousel to the famous boardwalk! Before we started though, we grabbed a few drinks. Paul tried a Coney Island Craft Lager.....it had a very cool, freaky label.





Then of course we HAD to get the famous hot dogs at the original Nathan's Famous Hotdogs! Two chili-cheese dogs please! Yum....I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!! After going on some rides, watching Rob win Melissa her Nemo, and walking the boardwalk, we went down to the pier and the beach, where we witnessed (and fotographed of course : ) the most incredible sunset and moon rise I've ever seen!!! We are so excited about the way all of the images turned out...check out some of our favorites below!! Destination Love Shoot : Lynn + Billy : Narragansett, Rhode Island

We met Billy several years ago through a mutual friend and have always thought he was such a great guy. And when we met Lynn for the first time a couple years ago we thought she was such a sweetheart and perfect for Billy! So, naturally when they called us to tell us they were getting married, we were very happy for them. They are tying the knot on September 26th, and we are so excited to be part of their day!!!

When we were brainstorming with Lynn + Billy about a location for their love shoot, they immediately thought of the vacation home in Narragansett, Rhode Island that Lynn has been going to for years. Billy + Lynn have made it a tradition to go there every summer to "get away." Last summer Billy proposed to Lynn by the romantic light of a campfire he made on one of the beaches. Narragansett will now forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Meet Lynn + Billy :




It was extremely foggy when we started fotographing them. I personally love fog and the atmosphere (literally) that it gives to fotographs. So moody and beautiful.




I was fotographing from the above, on the deck of a restaurant. It was a really wonderful angle;
I was able to frame Lynn + Billy in the beautiful elements of fog, rocks, and ocean water.

Paul took these of me, shooting from above, while he fotographed at the ground level.




And here's Paul! He loves that hat when we go for beach shoots. Of course there wasn't too much sun that he
had to protect himself from, but he does look pretty stylin' if I do say so myself!




I love the feel of these intimate portraits. So gorgeous and relaxed.

How adorable is this couple?

We were literally across the street from the Historic Narragansett Towers, so we wandered over to take some fotos in the pretty little park there.

Here's the shot I took.... I love their matching bracelets.....so sweet! There was yellow circles of moss growing on the Towers and it reminded me of a wedding rings.

Paul took this of Lynn's beautiful ring with the yellow moss.





Billy took us to a cool location that he loves. The sea grass was growing tall on either side of a long, winding road. Very picturesque.




We had to wait for cars to pass several times, but it was worth it.








I swear they did this on their own......very cute. We try not to direct too, too much, but rather encourage our couples
to be playful and romantic in their own natural way.








This is probably my favorite sequence of the day.




...no wait! This might be. Lynn isn't sure what's going on either, so don't feel bad. Billy is sure one happy camper though!




I love when random people walk through my shot (or bike, or anything else for that matter).




Lynn is so pretty...Billy's one lucky guy : )








Our 2nd to last location is a favorite of Billy's and it was an awesome location to fotograph. The rocks and waves were out of this world beautiful!!!
















How magnificent is this landscape to fotograph a couple in?












I LOVE this one!! It should be a big canvas on their living room wall ; )

Lynn's blue dress was a nice contrast to the gray rocks.




This is a spot I could sit and meditate for hours....








Okay, this is my favorite sequence.....




It became really foggy again (not that it ever was completely clear) when we went down to the beach.

Lynn + Billy we can't wait to spend the day with you on your wedding day....it's going to be a really special day in your lives,
and we are so honored to be part of it. We'll see you in September!
